May 29 Club results

I'm going to have a T-shirt printed that says, "I beat Mike." A few months ago, when Mike Willis began coming to our club, I beat him in our first game against each other, and I felt pretty good about myself. After that, though, our games were one-sided. Finally, today, I beat him, and it was a barn-burner. We each had three bingos: ANTITAX, BLASTER and ADJOINT for me, TRIAZOLE, POSTURE and TOWERING for him, and the final score was 446 to 434. It was a lot of fun for both of us. On his POSTURE play, Mike hooked the S to ZIP and the E to SIC. Very cool.

Five of us were at club, and Mike led the bingo parade as usual: nine in four games. Here are the results:

Director Update

Hi everyone,

I know that some of you are already aware of this, but for those that are not, I think an announcement here appropriate.

Our co-director, John Spangler, has taken a haitus from club activities, and it's not clear when he may plan to return. In the meantime, I am acting as sole director. As such, if you have any director-related inquiries, please direct them to me. Cheryl has already updated the club website and blog to reflect this change, and WGPO has done likewise with their website.

Sunday, May 15 Club Results

Well, you would normally find last Sunday's results below, but...I messed up. I have misplaced my paper where I had them written, and I think it's possible (ok, likely) it ended up in the trash. I'm really sorry about that. If I find it, I'll post the results.

I'm thinking that for future meetings I'll just set up a simple spreadsheet to record the results, so this doesn't happen again (that is, assuming my laptop doesn't suffer the same fate as the scoresheet :-).

Also, who will be at club this Sunday, May 22? I will probably not, and the next weekend (Memorial Day) I'll be in Chicago playing at the Arden Cup tourney there. I hope to be back at club the following Sunday though.

Jan, Betty and Andrea hung around a bit to allow me to play a second game. Thanks!

Betty was the star, going 5-1, and her only loss was by 2 points. Jan took it on the chin, going 1-4, but she's going to Disney World next weekend, so she wasn't too broken up about it. Andrea had the big play of the day: REAlIZES for 98 points.
