No December LCT

Hi Everyone,

I got a call from John Spangler today asking me to pass along this news. He was recently hospitalized and received treatment for some heart problems and is at home recuperating. He will be out of commission for a while, though he expects a full recovery. While I'm sure he would welcome cards or a kind email, he is requesting no phone calls or visits, in large part due to the fact that his elderly mother is also there and needs attention.

For the club, this means we will not be able to have a December LCT, but hopefully we can pick back up with that in January. We will of course still have our weekly meetings at Perkins throughout December. As for this coming Sunday (Thanksgiving weekend), I'm not sure how many folks will be able to make it. If you plan to attend, please post a comment to the blog so others will know.

Best wishes, and a full and speedy recovery to John!

Actually I am still in the hospital and will likely be sent home on Friday. Blacked out and was a code blue during a nuclear cardiac exercise stress test last Thirsday morning and had quintuple cardiac bypass surgery very early Saturday morning -- that went very well and I am making a good recovery. Talking on the phone and visits do, however, tire me considerably.

I do look forward to being back at club when I am feeling better.

Oops, sorry for the misinformation, John. I hope you make it back home today. The hospital is no place to spend Thanksgiving!
